STM’s National Striking UAV System ALPAGU Relatively Ready

Developing national and modern systems in the Turkish defence industry, STM Savunma Teknolojileri Mühendislik ve Ticaret A.Ş. continues to make new deliveries in the field of tactical UAVs, in which it is the pioneer in Turkey. Domestic deliveries of ALPAGU, a fixed-wing national strike UAV system, also known as “Kamikaze UAV”, developed by STM with completely domestic and national facilities, were made. ALPAGU made its first export in 2023.

Smiley ALPAGU to Increase Effectiveness in Operational Field

STM General Manager Özgür Güleryüz said, “Our tactical UAV family, which we developed with our national engineering power for the needs of our country, strengthens the hands of our security forces in the field. After our scout, striking and ammunition dropping UAVs, we continue deliveries with our fixed-wing striking UAV system ALPAGU. We evaluate that ALPAGU will increase our effectiveness in the operational field.”

Light in Self, Heavy in Effect

ALPAGU, which means “a valiant man who attacks the enemy alone” in Old Turkish, stands out with its lightweight structure, diving speed, low radar cross-sectional area and speed, and its ability to create point damage to important targets. ALPAGU, which can play an active role in counter-terrorism operations, cross-border operations and urban conflicts, has a range of 8 kilometres. ALPAGU, which consists of three components as Fixed Wing Strike UAV System, Launcher Launcher and Ground Control Station, can perform effective day and night missions with its electro-optical and infrared cameras.

ALPAGU Delivery

ALPAGU, which flies for about 15 minutes after launching from the launcher, successfully performs target tracking with the latest technology image processing software supported by artificial intelligence. ALPAGU, which cannot be detected by the target until the last moment due to its low radar cross-sectional area and small size, destroys the target with pinpoint precision with the ammunition on it. MIL-STD-331 compliant ALPAGU, which has electronic approach fuze, mission change or self-destruction capabilities, is capable of precision strike with its image processing-based fire control system.

The system, which can be easily carried by a single personnel and installed and used in the mission area within 1 minute, provides an important force multiplier and operational superiority with its artificial intelligence and image processing capabilities, silence, and the ability to deliver the explosive it carries to the target precisely.

Multi-Mission Capability from ALPAGU

In addition to its superior capabilities, ALPAGU distinguishes itself from its competitors with its ability to integrate with different platforms (land, sea and air vehicles). Thanks to its network-based communication system (mesh network link structure), ALPAGU enables multi-tasking by controlling multiple platforms from a single controller (ground control station). There are only two platforms in the world similar to ALPAGU, which weighs less than 2 kilograms. ALPAGU, which performs fully autonomous navigation with the mission computer and flight control system developed by STM engineers, performs the detection and destruction of targets completely under the control of the operator with the “Man-in-the-Loop” principle.
