Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu stated that they have launched an important transformation to increase efficiency in railway transportation. The Minister noted that they have more than doubled the liberalization rate from 2018 to 2025, bringing competition and dynamism to the sector. This move is supported by projects connecting the railway network to industrial zones and ports.
Connecting Lines and the 25 Logistics Center Target
Uraloğlu announced that, in line with the 12th Development Plan objectives, they have initiated significant connecting and railway projects such as Filyos Port-Industrial Zone (7.1 km), Çukurova Region (30 km), Adapazarı Karasu (65 km), and Dörtyol-Hassa Tunnel (25 km).
He noted that today there are 12 logistics centers in operation and announced their aim to increase this number to 25 centers. These centers aim to maximize Turkey’s logistical strength by integrating railway transport between industry, ports, and free zones.
