Kadhafi’s son Hannibal was released on bail

According to the Lebanese official agency NNA, Hannibal Gaddafi, who has been detained in Lebanon for about 10 years, was released after his lawyers paid the bail of 893,000 dollars.

Lebanese judge Zahir Hammade had approved his release on November 6, decreasing the bail from 11 million dollars to approximately 900 thousand dollars.

Hannibal Gaddafi was abducted by unidentified persons in Syria in December 2015 and taken to Lebanon, where he was detained. Since then, he had been held in a Beirut prison as part of an investigation into the disappearance of Musa es-Sadr and two others accompanying him.

The Shia community in Lebanon and the Amal Movement blame the Gaddafi regime for the disappearance of Shia religious leader Musa es-Sadr, who went missing in Libya in 1978. However, the former Libyan government denied these accusations, claiming that Sadr and his companions left Tripoli and went to Italy.

Hannibal Gaddafi, born in 1975, is married to former Lebanese model Eline El-Sekaf. The couple has two children.
