U.S. Department of the Treasury issued a written statement sharing information with the public regarding the updated Syria sanctions section on November 10.
The statement included the phrase, “The Secretary of State, on November 10, announced the suspension of the enforcement of the Caesar Act sanctions for a period of 180 days in order to continue our commitment to easing sanctions on Syria”.
It was noted that this decision replaced the previous decision to suspend the Caesar Act sanctions for 180 days, which was made on May 23.
The statement also specified that procedures related to Russia and Iran, as well as transfers of goods, technology, software, funds, financing, or services originating from these countries, are excluded from these exemptions.
