The number of provinces connected by high-speed trains in Turkey is increasing to 27

Turkey is rapidly progressing towards a revolutionary transformation in the transportation sector. The total railway infrastructure target by 2028 is 17,287 kilometers, which is a major step towards boosting the country’s logistics and economic strength. This vision not only aims to increase the length but also represents a comprehensive modernization plan that includes technological advancements.

Revolution in High-Speed Rail Network and Transportation Convenience

Turkeyโ€™s dramatic leap in high-speed rail transportation aims to strengthen regional and national integration. Currently, only a few provinces benefit from the high-speed rail network through 11 direct connections. However, by 2028, this number is expected to increase to 27, enabling nearly one-third of Turkish provinces to have direct high-speed rail access. This development will reduce travel times while setting new standards in comfort, safety, and efficiency.

Modernization of Existing Infrastructure and Advanced Technological Integration

Significant progress is observed in Turkeyโ€™s railway infrastructure. The total length of electrified lines reaches 7,274 kilometers, while lines equipped with signaling systems amount to 8,046 kilometers. These infrastructure improvements not only increase capacity of existing lines but also enable *faster, safer, and more sustainable* transportation at higher speeds.

Major Investments for Turkeyโ€™s Railway Future

The 2028 targets form the core of a comprehensive plan involving large-scale investments and modernization efforts. These plans aim to expand high-speed rail lines, strengthen energy consumption efficiency, and enhance signaling systems. Additionally, by maintaining and renewing existing lines to minimize connection times, overall transportation effectiveness is maximized.

Safe and Sustainable Railway Systems of Today and Tomorrow

High-tech infrastructure and investments are designed to set high standards in Turkeyโ€™s railway system. As a result, sustainability and safety become primary priorities in passenger and freight transport. Energy-efficient tracks and intelligent signaling systems offer environmentally friendly and economically advantageous transportation solutions.

Economic and Social Goals for High Value-Added Contribution

This major transformation in Turkeyโ€™s transportation sector aims to bring new dynamics to the economy. Fast and reliable railway networks support regional development and strengthen employment and investment environments across the country. Furthermore, the reduction in transportation costs benefits both consumers and businesses. These strategic steps will enhance Turkeyโ€™s competitiveness in global transportation networks and further promote regional integration.
